"It's that time again...the 19th Mississippi Afterburner, April 29-May1. As before, it's held at the John Bell Williams airport in Raymond, MS, suburb of Jackson, 6000', owned by Hinds Community College. All proceeds go to a scholorship fund for the aviation dept. Our Saturday night dinner is THE ABSOLUTE BEST of any RC event. I will let others attest to that. Roast pig, fried catfish, 200lbs of MS finest mudbugs, all the sides, homemade ice cream and cobblers...3 flavors of each. Breakfast each moring with pancakes, sausage, eggs and bacon(Eric Clapp can comment on that). Tents are available, airplane storage is available. Call Dawn for reservations 800-527-1630. Hotel is 4 miles from airport. Reg. is $40.00 pre and $60.00 on-site. Send to Vernon Montgomery 200 Concord Dr. Clinton, MS 39056. Include address, e-mail,AMA and waiver#.More shortly."
Note: I urge all RCers to come out and support this event. It is a fundraiser for the scholarship Vernon and Dennis have set up for the Aviation School at Hinds Community College. It is the only scholarship the aviation department has. Also, anyone may attend the banquet on Saturday night. Fee is $10.00 for non-registrants. Well worth the money - believe me!! John
